Miami Jai-Alai Facts and Results

Miami Jai-alai opened its doors in 1924 as part of the Hialeah Complex.  On September 18, 1926 the original fronton was destroyed by a Hurricane.  The fronton was then relocated to its current location 10 minutes from the Miami International Airport.  Current capacity is 6,500.  It contains a poker room, domino tables, concessions and bars.  It is also home to the “Courtview Clubhouse/Restaurant” which has capacity for 450 people and all tables overlook the playing court.  In the past 80 years, Miami Jai-alai has been home to some of the best jai-alai action in the world and was well known for its record breaking crowds.  Many great players have made their debut and retired from the Miami Jai alai fronton.  Today it is the home of Goikoetxea and Irastorza, two of the best players in the world.
